Freddie Bols – Founder, Private Music Mentoring
Freddie Bols is a professional trumpeter and educator based in Hertfordshire.
He studied at the Royal Academy of Music (Postgraduate Diploma with Merit, full
scholarship) and Florida State University (Trumpet Teaching Assistant, full scholarship),
and holds a BMus (Hons) from the University of Edinburgh.
Freddie’s performing career includes work with West End productions, touring shows,
orchestras and commercial recordings.
He has appeared with ensembles such as the London Concert Orchestra and The Heritage
Orchestra, and has performed in major venues and theatres across the UK.
As Head of Performing Arts in a primary school, brass specialist and former chorister, he
brings together high-level performance experience and a deep understanding of how children
learn, practise and grow as musicians.
His musical foundation was shaped as Head Chorister of St John’s College Choir,
Cambridge, under Christopher Robinson and George Guest — an experience that instilled a
lifelong commitment to musical excellence and ensemble discipline.

Through Private Music Mentoring by Freddie Bols, he helps pupils build the skills, discipline
and confidence that make music a lasting joy.
